Communication with a place
Media: 29 signs with printed text on plywood, iron poles.
Part of the exhibition Seeing nature at Gallery Mors Mössa, Göteborg, 2011.

The work consists of signs that are placed besides a long flight of stairs up to the hill Skansberget close to the gallery. The texts are personal texts and quotes from books, magazines, films, interviews and lectures gathered for many years. They concern subjects and questions that in different ways circle around the human relation to nature and the experience of the place where they are situated. The design of the signs recall of plant signs in a botanical garden, but instead of defining species, the texts talk about thoughts and values of our environment that rarely are presented out in nature. As in a pilgrimage, the walk up the stairs and the changing landscape around it works as a way towards insight and deeper knowledge.
